America Celebrates Design

Design brings so much to our lives that we sometimes don’t stop and realize the magnitude of its significance. We were thrilled to see a well-selected group of industrial designers honored with a stamp collection.

The 12 industrial design ‘pioneers’ are: Frederick Hurten Rhead, Walter Dorwin Teague, Norman Bel Geddes, Raymond Loewy, Donald Deskey, Gilbert Rohde, Greta von Nessen, Russel Wright, Henry Dreyfuss, Peter Müller-Munk, Dave Chapman, and Eliot Noyes. Each stamp features the name of a designer and a photograph of an object created by the designer and the year the object was created. — Kristina

Organic basics for Baby

For those of you with babies, we want to tell you all about EGG. They have such a great assortment of organic basics for babies and in colors that are so vivid and unusual. The fit is great and the quality is amazing. And they have fantastic basics that are so functional, made well and made from hemp. We are all big fans!

Handmade light

We are always looking for quick ways to make a room dramatically different. Lighting is a great choice. LED lightbulbs are sometimes not the prettiest but how could they not give off amazing light in this beauty of a light! It’s handmade in Egypt and gives off the loveliest pattern. Thanks Luster for finding something so beautiful.

Fire Pit, BBQ + a Table

We think this is so clever we had to share. It’s a fire pit that can be used as a barbecue and a table. This is when design is at its best – when one object can be used in multiple ways. And it’s great-looking on top of its functionality!

This bike is amazing

The number of people commuting on bikes seems to grow every day. Not only is it inspiring, but it looks like fun! As a mother of two and soon to have three, I definitely need one with car seats. I’d love to see Mark Sanders’ solution for my dilemma because I’m in love with how he created this folding bike. It’s amazing. And the colors are brilliant. - Kristina
