The Muir twin bed combines the beauty of solid wood with the simplicity of good design and ecological manufacturing. Every detail has been considered to create a handmade bed that is timeless and in harmony with preserving nature’s resources.
We use only reclaimed Douglas Fir from local sources because of the wood’s incredible density brought on by decades of use in our sunny Southern California climate. The stability of the wood, along with our metal friction locks and highly-skilled craftsmanship, combine to make this an exceptionally solid bed. Choosing reclaimed woods reduces forest clear cutting, landfill use and air pollution.
Finished with low VOC finishers and non-toxic stains. We do not use MDF or toxic glues.
Shown with a 7” leg. 10” leg is available for extra height and storage capability. Frame includes 10 slats spaced 1.5 inches apart. Ideal for an organic mattress. Allows for healthy airflow. Slats are slightly inset to keep mattress in place.
