Kristina’s house

Amenity Kristina's Living Area

As one of the co-founders, I’ve always believed that Amenity is a reflection of the way Nicole and I live. My home faces the sunset in the silver lake hills in los angeles and the living areas have the most beautiful golden tone to them which somewhat inspired the color theme. I’m a huge fan of warm colors. I would say that there is a natural ease to the rooms that I love and that reminds me of the way I grew up, making me feel at home here in los angeles.  The mantel arrangement (above) seems to always be in flux and tends to be focused around my favorite sentimental objects. Sometimes it’s a photo or sometimes it’s an object that was given to me as a gift recently or long ago.

A warm blanket

My grandfather said that a man should always have a saddle horse around, I feel the same way about a warm blanket. I love all things cozy.

Amenity Home duvet

The duvet cover in my bedroom is one of our first designs that is still one of my favorites. It came from a dried pressing from my garden cut from a camelia bush. The throw is an amenity alpaca throw and it’s the warmest, coziest blanket and always makes me happy. I like the mixes of wood and natural fiber textures throughout the house especially in the bedroom. And this is George. I am crazy about him and about his coloring. People have been know to give me a hard time that he matches my decor!

Outdoor deck

My dining area opens up to the deck where we spend a lot of our time throughout the year. The way the house is situated on the hill in the trees it really feels like you’re living among the treetops and we’re so lucky to be able to see the sun go down and set every night. It’s an amazing view that continually inspires me.

Little boy's room

I love my little boy roman’s room. I made the poster above his bed from one of the covers of my great-grandfather’s books. He wrote an autobiographical trilogy about being a cowboy and pioneering the west. We hang out a lot in here and lounge around on the pillows and play with toys. My kitchen is also filled with things that remind me of my childhood. My Scandinavian grandmother is a big influence for me. The two plates hanging by the stove are from her table. What I loved about her is that she lived with lots of mid-century Scandinavian furniture but she could still appreciate ornate art and objects.

Santa Monica flea market horses

There is a lot of cowboy in my family’s history. I found these at the Santa Monica flea market. I really love having things like this around at a child’s height for them to interact with and play with outside of where I usually keep toys. It’s always fun to see what they do with them.
